Aston Martin/Mobiado CPT002 Concept Phone

Aston Martin and luxury phones maker Mobiado have teamed up to produce a series of prestigious mobile handsets. The first concept is a transparent glass phone.

Presented at Baselworld 2011 – the World Watch and Jewellery Show – the Android-based CPT002 features a transparent body, consisting of a solid sapphire crystal layered with a transparent capacitive touchscreen.

The electronics and the SIM card are integrated in the side elements, made of platinum.

The CPT002 can connect with the owner’s Aston Martin, working as a key, integrating with the onboard infotainment system and controlling the airbag deployment and seatbelt pretension through the
built-in accelerometer.

According to Canadian Mobiado, the CPT002 concept was created to “push the boundaries of invention”.

The exclusive range of phones developed by Mobiado and Aston Martin will go on sale in May 2011.
