The main performance figures are a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h.
Thanks to its advanced technology, the 918 Spyder achieves a fuel consumption of just three liters/100km (94 mpg imp.) based on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).
The liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery can be charged from a conventional domestic power socket and allows for a range of 25 km (16 miles) on purely electric power.
The design is is very close to the 2010 concept car and is derived from the Carrera GT, the 917 and the RS Spyder.
Unlike the concept car, the production 918 Spyder has a manual roof system with removable roof panels that can be stowed in the front luggage compartment.
The 918 Spyder is already available for order, with prices starting from 645,000 Euro (excluded taxes) and first deliveries planned for November 2013.
Waiting for the launch of the 918 Spyder, Porsche has also introduced the 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder”, a special version with a production limited to 918 units and a design inspired by the upcoming hybrid supercar.

It seems that when AUDI announced it’s futur plan to be on top of the the list of luxury and sports car maker by the year 2025, it seems that futur started to be a real, and we have an evidence here as this model 918 spider which will go for sale on 2013 is just a tuning for the R8 spider which unveiled by audi on 2003 as a concept car and then as a production car on 2007, which means that AUDI is about 10 years forerun Porsche who used to be a leader in super car world.
@Mohamed
Are u talking about AUDI? That one that is just scaling its designs? I hope it won’t be the largest luxury car producers, it would be difficult to be a car designer if each brand does the same. I liked when every car had a different personality inside a brand…
so, do u feel this design really having his own character ??? If yes, so i advice you to review both models (this model and the R8) especially since the middel to the rear, then tell me your openion.
i honestly have to agree with every1. but the worlds most popular supercar is now comming out with a 700 hp car. the car is called a Lamborghini Aventador Lp700. this particular car is what is taking place of the outdated Lamborghini Mercielago and the Lamborghini Mercielago Lp640 and Lp670. although the new sleek Audi R8 uses the same 5.2 liter V10 that the Lamborghini Gallardo Lp models uses, i do believe that the Lamborhini is just a overpriced Audi R8. Audi did unveil a new Audi R8. Its called the Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro GT. and although this produces about 580+ horsepower i do think it could outrun the soon to be Porsche 918 spyder.
