The Autostyle 2009 competition was organized by car parts producer Berman Spa and Auto & Design magazine, which this year is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The brief of the 6th edition of the contest was to create a tuned version based on a production model, by creating accessories and modifying bumpers, fenders, wheels and grilles without changing the main body panels.
The awards ceremony was held on 7-8 October 2009 at Palazzo Te, Mantova (Italy).
The 12 finalsists selected among more than 70 participants, have proposed their interpretation of two or three models choosen among the Lancia Delta, Toyota Prius, Ford Fiesta, Nissan Qazana e Suzuki Kizashi.

Among the awarded students were Italian Davide Varenna (Faculty of Industrial Design at Politecnico di Milano) in the Urban cars/Suv category and Italian Adriano Stellino (from Turin AAD) – who also received a public award – in the Sportscar category.
Two special awards for creativity were also assigned by Auto & Design director Fulvio Cinti to Alessandro Nardolillo (IED) and Spanish Luis Camino (Umea University).
The involved car manufacturers presented a merit plate to the students who created the best interpretaion for their brands: Alessandro Nardolillo for the Nissan Qazana, Hussein Al-Attar for the Toyota Prius, Luis Camino for the Ford Fiesta and Giuseppe Starace for the Suzuki Kizashi.
