Chrysler appoints new Heads of Design

Chrysler Group LLC has announced new appointments within its Product Design organization, led by Ralph Gilles, Senior Vice President of Design. The new Heads of Design for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep will be respectively Brandon Faurote, Joseph Dehner and Mark Allen.


After the agreement with Fiat, Chrysler Group LLC has changed most of its management. Now it has announced the complete appointments within the Product Design organization.

  • Chrysler Firepower Design Sketch Chrysler Firepower – Design Sketch

    Brandon Faurote was appointed Head of Chrysler Design. In this position, Mr. Faurote will be responsible for all design activities for Chrysler-brand vehicles.

  • Joseph Dehner has been appointed Head of Dodge Design. In this position, Mr. Dehner will be responsible for all design activities for Dodge-brand vehicles.
  • Mark Allen was appointed Head of Jeep® Design. In this position, Mr. Allen will be responsible for all design activities for Jeep-brand vehicles.
  • Timothy Anness continues as Head of Advance Design. In this position, Mr. Anness will be responsible for all interior and exterior advance packaging design activities for all Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.
  • Klaus Busse continues as Head of Interior Design and Component Commonization. In this position, Mr. Busse will be responsible for all interior design activities for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.
  • Brandt Rosenbusch continues as Car Curator to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum and Historical Collection Coordiator.

Ralph Gilles

Ralph Gilles was born Jan. 14, 1970, in New York. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation Design from the Center for Creative Studies (1992) and a Master of Business Administration from the Michigan State Universit (2002).

He joined the company in 1992 as a designer. His professional and academic background include: Director at Chrysler Design Office (2001) and part-time instructor at the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit, Mich.

He was named Vice President – Design on Sept. 1, 2008.

Gilles sits on the Boards of The Walter P. Chrysler Museum, Chrysler’s Street & Racing Technology (SRT) Group and Mopar Underground (an internal group of enthusiasts that create niche concept cars for SEMA and other specialty car shows).

Brandon Faroute

Brandon L. Faurote was born on Aug. 30, 1971, in Canton, Ohio. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, College for Creative Studies, Detroit, (1993).

Faurote joined Chrysler in 1993 as a designer. Since July 2007 he has held the position of Vice President – Advance Design, International and Color/Trim.

Among the vehicles in his portfolio are the 2005 Chrysler Firepower concept ant the Chrysler Imperial.

Joseph Dehner

Chrysler CrossfireJoseph S. Dehner was was born Dec. 30, 1964, in Indianapolis, Ind. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Cleveland Institute of Art (1988).

Dehner joined Chrysler in 1988 as a designer. Since June 2007 he has held the position of Vice President – Production Car, Minivan, Truck and Jeep® Design for Chrysler LLC.

Dehner has served on the Board of his alma mater, the Cleveland Institute of Art, since 2008 and has been a visiting Transportation Design Instructor from 1991 to present.

His portfolio includes the Chrysler Crossfire and the 2001 Chrysler Sebring.

Mark Allen

Mark T. Allen was born on Jan. 30, 1963, in Pomona, Calif. He has a Bachelor of Fine Art from the College for Creative Studies, Detroit (1994).

Allen joined Chrysler in 1994 as a designer and has held a variety of increasingly responsible positions in the Product Design Office, including, most recently, the position of Chief Designer Jeep/Dodge Truck for Chrysler LLC since 2007.

Allen’s portfolio includes the 2006 Jeep Wrangler, 2009 Dodge Ram 150 and the Jeep JT and Jeep J8 Sarge Concepts.

Timothy Anness

Timothy Anness was born on July 4, 1967, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has a Bachelor of Science, Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati (1990).

He joined Chrysler in 1990. Among the positions held by Anness in the Product Design Office is Director of Advance Design.
