Motorcity Europe summer car design seminars

Motorcity Europe has announced a series of intermediate and advanced intensive automotive design seminars, which will be held at the company’s studio in Cologne, Germany, during July and August 2009. They are open to students, professionals and even non-designers.


Concept Car RenderingMotorcity Europe is launching a series of 2 and 5 day design seminars.

Open to students, professionals, working designers and even non-designers, the goal of these seminars is to improve designer’s skills, job potential, plus broaden the general knowledge base of creativity and automotive design.

2 seminars will be available: A Two Day Intensive Weekend Seminar and a Five Day Extended Project Workshop.

The Five Day Seminar will provide participants the opportunity to develop a portfolio project supervised by professional designers.

Concept Car SketchBoth the seminars are available in two levels: intermediate and advanced.

The intermediate level is targeted to people working or willing to work in the automotive industry, who want to know more about the design process. It is open to students, professionals, engineers, industrial designers and to any creative or technical professionals.

The advanced level seminar is for anyone with a degree in Automotive or Industrial Design, or high level design students. It will focus on improving the portfolio and on the today automotive industry requirements for professional designers.

MCE Clay ModelingThe Seminars will be held in Cologne, Germany, at the MCE-Design studio, and will be supervised by professional guest designers from Pininfarina, Ford, Citroen, Jaguar, Kia and Renault, who will coach participants on a “one to one” level.

Each seminar is open to a maximum number of 30 participants. The costs for the Two Day and Five Day Seminars are respectively 450 Euros and 900 Euros.

MCE Director David Hilton explains: “We want to get Designers together in one studio setting to not only learn from each other, but also to trade contacts and concepts. The objective is to improve each individual in an interactive environment, while opening new doors and ideas”.

About Motorcity Europe

Founded in January 2000, Motorcity Europe currently works with several European and Asian OEM’s on both concept and production levels of Automotive Design Styling. The design team include 10 designers from the UK, Germany, Sweden, France, Spain and the US.

MCE Director David Hilton’s design credentials include such vehicles as the Focus RS and ST, production sports cars for C2P-UK, the L-GT Supercar, and co-designer of 2007 Car of the Year S-Max.
