"H-Point – The Fundamentals of Car Design & Packaging" is a reference guide recently released by Curb Industries in cooperation with Design Studio Press and Art Center College of Design, where it is currently used for the transportation design courses


“H-Point – The Fundamentals of Car Design & Packaging” is a reference guide targeted to car designers and automotive engineers. It presents a process for developing vehicles founded in logic and creativity and organizes the packaging standards that apply to car and truck design.

H Point Sample PageH-Point was written by the pioneer of the Vehicle Architecture course at Art Center College of Design, Stuart Macey along with the Director of Advanced Mobility Research, Geoff Wardle with contributions by Ralph Gilles, Gordon Murray and Freeman Thomas.

H-Point was developed as support material for ACCD’s Vehicle Architecture course, and over time grew into a text book format. It is currently used as the educational handout for the transportation design students at Art Center.
