SEMA 2008 previews

A selection of previews for the upcoming 2008 SEMA Show, from the MOPAR Challengers and Rams to the custom Fords and the Toyo Tires Concept Vehicles, including many official teaser renderings.


MOPAR Underground Dodge Challenger

Dodge Challenger Blacktop

Dodge Challenger Blacktop The Dodge Challenger Blacktop created by Mopar Underground design team is based on a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 and six-speed manual transmission.

Mopar Underground added custom-made spoilers and front brow, a black-on-black racing stripe paint scheme, coil-over suspension and strut tower brace, 22-inch Dodge Viper wheels from Factory Reproductions and Dunlop tires measuring 265/35 R22 front and 305/30 R22 rear.

Powertrain enhancements include a cat back dual-exhaust, cold air intake. The interior has been enhanced with Katzkin leather seating finished in bright red and a new audio system.

Dodge Challenger Targa

MOPAR Dodge Challenger TargaThe Dodge Challenger Targa is a full-blown competition car that raced and completed the Targa Newfoundland race this year.

Many features were borrowed from the Dodge Viper, including the snakeskin green paint. To keep the front end down, a chin front spoiler “Splats“ developed in a full scale wind tunnel, was added.

The hood is equipped with a scoop to make room for the 540-horsepower, 490 lb. ft. of torque, 392 HEMI® V-8 Mopar crate motor.

Among the chassis enhancements are Tremec six-speed manual gearbox, Stop-Tech brakes and race suspension by KW. (Source: Chrysler)

CGS Motorsport ReFlex

CGS Motorsports presents “ReFlex”, based on a new ’09 Ford Flex and designed by Sean Smith of SS Designs.

This new crossover SUV will feature custom paint by DuPont Refinishes with paint preparation by 3M, 22″ one-off Bonspeed wheels, Pirelli Tires, Custom leather from Roadwire, door solenoids by SPAL, suede interior of Keyston Bros., and a custom sound system by Kicker featuring a Clarion navigation head unit.

As illustrated in the rendering, ReFlex will feature a one-off body kit, Sean Smith and the design team at CGS will clay up the body kit until it looks just the way they envisioned it.

The CGS team is also designing and building hand made chrome moldings to separate the two tone paint scheme. (Source: CGS Motorsport)

Lexus GS 460 by Five Axis

Lexus GS 460 by Five Axis Long-time Toyota collaborator Five Axis unveils a reworked GS 460, designed by Troy Sumitomo.

The aggressive bodykit has new bumpers, side sills and a set of 5-spoke alloy wheels.

Lexus will also display a special LX 570 created by ICON 4×4 Design. This concept brings a stealthy and functional look to the LX (“anti-bling” says ICON’s Jonathan Ward) augmented by several performance upgrades. (Source: Autoblog.com)

Mr Norm’s Super Challenger and Super Cuda

Super Challenger by Mr NormThe “Super Challenger” and “Super Cuda” are heavily modified Challengers with 900 hp delivered by supercharged V8 engines.

Customer will be able to choose from a wide range of options, all available as separate items to create their own custom car.

The Super Challenger‘s modifications include custom leather interior, neon lights, forged wheels by Rodtana with Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires, lowered suspension by Hotchkis Performance,Corsa Performance exhaust and SSBC 8 Piston Disc Brakes.

Powered by a 6.1 Hemi engine, the Mr. Norm’s Super Cuda draws inspiration from its the legendary 1970 AAR Cuda.

Super Cuda by Mr NormStyling modifications include a modern interpretation of the classic Cuda grille and tail panel, coupled with an aggressive front spoiler and sides boldly accented with satin black strobe stripes by Sharpline Converting that match the Black that covers the hood and adjacent surfaces.

Inside, the cockpit features a Hurst Shifter, a custom leather interior with Hemi Orange perforated inserts and Super Cuda monogrammed carpet mats by Designer Mat.

Additional technical highlights include Corsa Performance cat back dual exhaust system, tuned suspension engineered by Hotchkis Performance, Stainless Steel Brakes V8 8-Piston calipers, Rodtana 22” modular wheels matched with Pirelli Scorpion Zero Assimetrico performance tires. MOPAR Underground Dodge Rams

Dodge Ram TRXtreme

Dodge Ram TRXtreme Based on a 2009 quad cab TRX-4 off-road truck, it was upgraded to a serious off-road machine.

A 4.5-inches extra ground clearance was added thanks to a lift kit. This made room for polished and forged 20-inch wheels wrapped in knurly BFG 37X12.50’s.

The paint is a bright yellow and mineral grey two-tone incorporating a mud splash theme.

A set of wheel flares, a wheel-to-wheel tube step and a box rail are painted to match the theme.

Rearward visibility comes from the telescoping mirrors, which extend when needed. The one-off steel hood with cooling louvers and larger grille take care of any heat issues that may arise under severe use. Interior features include a navigation system, DVD headrests and leather seats by Katzkin.

Dodge Ram R/T

MOPAR Dodge Ram R/T The Dodge Ram R/T is a Dodge Challenger-inspired version of the 2009 Ram Sport, powered by a 380-horsepower, 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8, a 4.10 gear and a high stall converter.

The exterior is painted classic B5 blue with a Mopar dual-snorkel aluminum hood and carbon fiber accent stripes. The body kit consists of sill and box pieces, finished up with a chin spoiler.

A hard tonneau cover and a unique integrated spoiler are combined with the bed mat showing an ambient under-rail LED lighting system.

Dropped chassis features air suspension kit while the 22-inch Alcoas wheels are mated to 285/45R22 front tires and 305/40R22 rear tires. The interior features Katzkin leather seats with body color stitching to match the instrument panel and steering wheel.

Dodge Ram Sportsman MOPAR Dodge Ram Sportsman

The 2009 Dodge Ram Sportsman features an original blowing-leaves paint scheme inspired by a new interpretation of traditional camouflage in-house designed by Mopar Underground.

The paint is protected by a set of accent wheel flares and running boards with an integrated step.

The Sportsman features Dodge’s RamBox storage system, filled with plenty of outdoor gear, and the bed rail system holds a cargo rack for additional cargo capacity.

Dodge Ram Mopar Street Package

Dodge Ram Mopar Street Package Using a 2008 Dodge Ram Sport with 390-horsepower HEMI® V-8, the Dodge Ram Mopar Street Package features an exterior blackberry paint, a body kit consisting of sill extensions and a chin-spoiler, a slight body drop/leveling kit and 22-inch polished Alcoa forged wheels.

A hard tonneau cover blends with the truck.

The interior has ambient lighting. suede and leather seats. The infotainment capabilities include a DVD headrest system and a upgraded audio system. (Source: Chrysler)

Hyundai Genesis by RKSport

Hyundai Genesis by RKSportThere are six modded Genesis’ planned for SEMA: three coupes, three sedans. The coupes have been worked over by Street Concepts, HKS, and Rhys Millen.

RKSport unveiles a tuned Hyundai Genesis, with K&N air intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Eibach springs, Baer brakes, and a body kit including various carbon fiber accessories, new spoilers and oversized TSW wheels.

Street Scene Equipment F-150

Street Scene Equipment F-150SSE presents a modified 2009 Ford F-150 Lariat powered by a 5.4-liter V-8 unit with six-speed automatic gearbox.

The project is still under development, and a teaser rendering gives indications on the final result.

The SSEModifications will include in-house-designed bumper cover, side skirt package, wiper cowl, roll pan, hidden hitch, Cal-Vu mirrors, black chrome grille and lower valance, Hot Hues Paints by DuPont, bed caps, and tailgate wing and handle relocator.

Among the technical highlights are lowered suspensions by Ground Force Suspensions, MagnaFlow exhaust kit, Fesler Wheels’ three-piece FS 906 rims, 24X9 inches up front, and 24X10 inches in back and Yokohama P295/35R24 front and P315/34R24 rear tires.

Toyo Tires Show Cars

Nissan GT-R by Bulletproof AutomotiveToyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. will showcase ots line of products on six customized vehiclesincluding a 2009 Nissan GT-R, a 1931 Studebaker and a rare, 800-horsepower Bentley from Japan.

Nissan GT-R by Bulletproof Automotive

The Nissan GT-R by Bulletproof Automotive features 20-inches Limited Edition BBS LM-DBK-P wheels with Toyo Proxes R888 tires, in a 285/35ZR20 size up front and a 315/30ZR20 on the rear.

The Nissan GT-R is also loaded with high-grade carbon fiber components, an Amuse Super Tough Titanium (STT) exhaust, and Endless monoblock six-piston front and rear brakes.

1931 Studebaker Model 54

The one-off 1931 Studebaker Model 54 4-door sedan is a creation of Toyo event manager, Adrian Puente. The car was built by Choppin’ Block Custom Fab of Fresno, California, and rides on Toyo Proxes tires, 235/40ZR18 in the front and 275/40ZR20 in the rear.

The “Stude” has a chopped roof, entirely new frame, custom fabricated hood to cover a Zoops outfitted Chevy 350 with three deuces (two-barrel carburetors) and a retro-style fabricated sheet metal interior.

A custom air bag suspension provides the “slammed” look while the car rides on the Proxes 4 tires and Centerline Smoothie wheels.

Toyota Tundra CrewMax SR5 by Two Brothers Custom Trucks

Bentley Continental Tetsu GTRThe custom 2009 Toyota Tundra CrewMax SR5, features 37×13.50R20 Open Country M/T tires on 20×9-inch BMF S.O.T.A. wheels. Built by Two Brothers Custom Trucks with graphics by Eye Kandy Designs, this wild looking Tundra features a six inch Stage 2 lift.

Bentley Continental Tetsu GTR

The Tetsu GTR is a 800-horsepower custom craation based on a Bentley Continental. It features Nakamura Tetsuei art both on the hood and interior, melding Japanese tradition with modern style.

The wide body makes room for high performance 295/25R22 Toyo Proxes T1R tires.

It will be built in a limited series of 29 units by ASI (accuracy, spirit and imagination), a Japanese company that builds limited-edition luxury classics.
