Designed by Luca Serafini, the author of the Lamborghini Embolado project, the Ferrari Concept 2008 is a proposal for a future replacement of the V8-powered F430 model.
It combines some design elements of the current Ferrari line-up, such as the muscular silhouette and the circular single tail lights with some styling cues inspired by the past, such as the front grille – similar to the one adopted on the new Maserati Granturismo.
The aim was to communicate the "true Ferrari mood" and "ancient emotions" through the use of modern shapes – "something that is a little bit away from Ferrari design philosophy during these years." according to the designer.
As Luca explains, "It was important for me to reach in the new concept a path through the past."
The rear end provides a new interpretation of the of the current Ferrari design language and is a successful mix of the F430 and F599 GTB Fiorano models.
At the front the single grille reminds of legendary Ferrari racing cars from the pas such as the 1956 Testarossa and the 1962 GTO, while the L-shaped headlights contribute to a modern look.
Additional design elements are the side mirrors mounted on the A-pillar and the side window contours: they both have some reminescences of the 1984 Testarossa.
Luca is currently looking for a stage with AliasStudioTools to design and mill a 1:4 scale model.
