While featuring a bolder and more appealing look, compared to the current production model, the Pilot Concept that debuted at the 2008 Detroit Motor Show has several differences from the preview sketch released by Honda, as pointed out by this post at Jalopnik.
In particular, the Pilot Concept has more conventional wagon-lines with horizontal waistline and roofline, while the sketch showcases nearly streamlined volumes with a sloped and sporty profile.
The boldly-styled design previews the production 2009 Pilot, set to debut in spring 2008.

The SUV by Honda is characterized by eight-passenger seating capacity, and on the 2009 model the interior space has increased for all seating positions.
Among the new features are the new ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) body structure that makes use of high-strength steel and enhances frontal collision compatibility with vehicles of different sizes and bumper heights.
The engine is a V6 unit equipped with next-generation Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®) technology that operates in 6-cylinder mode for power and 4- and 3-cylinder modes for efficiency.
Inside, a wide center stack and center console form the styling anchor with a design that emphasizes spaciousness and power, while allowing for convenient access to navigation, entertainment and climate-control systems.
