Italdesign announces new management

Walter de Silva is the new President while Filippo Perini is named Head of Design. The company will be led by new CEO Jörg Astalosch.

Back in July Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio left the company he found in 1968, selling their remaining stake to the Volkswagen group and leaving a gap in the studio’s management that has lasted until last week’s announcement.

Italdesign announces new Management

Walter de Silva, who takes up his new role as the President of Italdesign Giugiaro effective September 2015, will also remain Head of Group Design of the Volkswagen Group.

Filippo Perini will be responsible of design, after a significant experience as Director of the Automobili Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Italdesign’s new CEO is Jörg Astalosch, who has been working for the Volkswagen Group since 1988; in 2004 moved to Audi where he worked in the Finance and Control department of Audi of America.

From 2012 to 2014 he was CFO of MAN and then he worked again directly for Volkswagen Group’s Supervisory Board Chairman.
