Dean’s Garage posts gallery of design artworks by former GM designer Gray Counts

Dean’s Garage has posted an exclusive gallery of artwork by former GM designer Gray Counts, recently scanned for GM’s archives by request of Ed Welburn.


The gallery of 100+ images, courtesy of GM Design Archive and Special Collections, includes studies for Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac models, along with sketch renders for the Disney World Epcot Project.

The artworks – which have an illustration quality to them, rather than being just “sketches” – showcase a variety of ‘old school’ mixed media techniques, with a masterful combination of markers, chalks, pastels and pencils.

    It’s been a while (35 years) since I worked with Gray in Buick Studio but he always was one of the most talented guys around!
