share on BufferThe news was confirmed by the Italian company on Thursday. In an official statement, Pininfarina reported that “no binding agreement of any nature for the acquisition of Pininfarina by the Indian company has currently been signed between the parties.”
The possible takeover would follow the acquisition of Italdesign by the Volkswagen Group in 2010, the bankruptcy of Stile Bertone in 2014, and the very recent acquisition of tire-maker Pirelli by China National Chemical Corp for 7.7 billion.
