Following the design challenge completed back in June, Local Motors is now developing the first 3D printed car, which is based on the winning entry of the competition, the Strati Concept created by Italian Michele Anoé, optimized for the 3D printing process thanks to an extremely reduced number of parts – just 40.
The clip reported below is a time-lapse video of the actual 3D printing process, which took 44 hours and was carried out at the recent International Manufacturing Technology Show 2014 in Chicago, Illinois, September 8-13, 2014.
