Daniel Starke is Rolls-Royce new Head of Interior Design

Rolls-Royce has announced the appointment of Daniel Starke as Head of Interior Design. Starke was Head of Interior Design for BMW i and supervised the design of the i3 and i8 interiors.


Alan Sheppard, current Head of Interior Design, moves to a new role with Rolls-Royce as Head of Colour, Materials and Accessories Design, leading the expanding colour, trim and accessories team.

Starke and Sheppard assume their new roles with immediate effect.

Director of Design Giles Taylor commeted: “We are delighted to welcome Daniel to the Rolls-Royce family. His considerable design experience, proven track record and contemporary thinking are an ideal match for the world’s leading luxury company. He will be a very valuable addition to the Rolls‑Royce design team.”

About Daniel Starke

Starke was born in Subotica, former Yugoslavia and brought up in the Netherlands. He holds a degree in Automotive Design from the University of Applied Science, Pforzheim, Germany. He speaks several languages including English, German and Dutch.

BMW i3 Interior

Starke began his career in the automotive industry with Volkswagen and Audi, before moving to the Interior Design team at BMW in 2001.

BMW i8 - Interior

He was appointed Head of Interior Design for BMW i in 2009, with responsibility for the interior design of the BMW i3 and i8.
