As Honda reports, the Civic Type R Concept gives hints on “the styling direction for the exterior design of the highly-anticipated production version that debuts in 2015”.
Dubbed by the design team as a ‘racing car for the road’, the concept is characterized by a bold styling. Among the distinctive details is the large carbon fiber wing, which integrates the rear fascia and the blade-shaped tail lights.
The aggressive character is also underlined by the minimal ground clearance, the large wheels, the air openings on the wheel-arches and the rear diffuser with two twin-pipe exhausts.
Along with the Civic Type R Concept, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show Honda will also have on display the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) Concept, the 2014 Civic World Touring Car Championship race car and the powertrain layout of the new NSX: a longitudinal, V6 direct injection engine with twin turbo and 3 motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) hybrid system.
