The Mobiliant is a study of a vehicle with an array of futuristic technologies, from the relatively normal polymer body and in-wheel motors with KERS System to more fictional innovations such as pollutant absorbing surfaces that convert air pollutants into a liquid fertilizers.
Like the ants from which SAIC designers drew inspiration, the Mobiliant features a structure divided into three main sections connected through a dual roation system and has exceptional grip on all kind of surfaces thanks to legs with hooked claws.
The Chinese design team, led by Shao Jingfeng, also conceived a matched infrastructure, a 3D road network called Mobiliant Expressway, which leverages on the vehicle ability of traveling along vertical surfaces to provide a distinctive solution – a spiral-shaped fork road – for non-stop intersections.
