Mitsubishi previews three concepts ahead of Tokyo Motor Show

Mitsubishi has announced that at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show it will unveil three concept vehicles – two SUVs and a MPV – with a new design identity.


The new concepts will be based on the concepts of environmental responsibility, driving pleasure, toughness and safety.

Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV - Design Sketch

The Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV (Grand Cruiser) is a next-generation full-size SUV that uses a high output PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) system that offers the dynamic drivability of an SUV and efficient performance.

Among the technical highlights is MMC’s S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) integrated vehicle dynamic control system which improves handling, stability as well as all-terrain capability.

Mitsubishi Concepts fot Tokyo 2013 - Preview

The Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEVX (cross) over Runner – is a compact SUV with a cope-inspired exterior and equipped with a lightweight and highly efficient PHEV system that allows for nimble drivability.

The Mitsubishi Concept AR (Active Runabout) is a next-generation compact MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) that offers both the mobility of an SUV and the occupant space of an MPV.

The latest fuel efficiency technologies adopted in the Mitsubishi Concept AR include the use of a down-sized direct-injection turbocharged engine.

The Mitsubishi Concept AR provides a relaxing space for occupants through its enveloping interior design and a range of seat arrangements that provide comfort for all passengers.
