In the video – reported below – presenter Jim Hall gives a brief historic background: from the Wide White Wall Tires of the 1950’s that visually enlarged the wheels, to the pedestrian safety constraints of today, which have risen the hood lines, so that bigger wheels are needed to provide aesthetic balance.
