Daihatsu unveils eight compact concept cars
At the Indonesia International Motor Show 2013 (Sept 19-29, 2013) Daihatsu has presented a group of eight different concept cars exploring the theme of “Compact ECO Mobility”.
The show cars will be exhibited by PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, a subsidiary of Daihatsu in Indonesia and aim at demonstrating the company’s line-up of fuel-efficient and affordable cars.
UFC 2 is an evolved version of UFC Concept, which was exhibited in 2012. The show car combines compact dimensions with a seven-seat interior and has practical features specifically targeted to everyday life in Indonesia.
The CUV is a Cross-over Utility Vehicle with a sporty exterior and split rear door that opens upward and downward as well as by creating space in the rear by rearranging the rear seats.
The D-R Estate is an evolution of the D-R Concept presented in 2012, and balances a driving fun experience with fuel efficiency, thanks to its 600cc engine.
The other six concept cars demontrate the possibilities offered by the AYLA model, a compact car launched in 2012 as Toyota and Astra Daihatsu’s answer to the Indonesia government’s plan of LCGC rule.
The AYLA GT is an aerodynamic version targeted to sports-minded customers, the AYLA X-track (cross track), which offers off-road capabilities and the AYLA Luxury, with a premium look and feel.
The NC-Y and NC-Z showcase even more compact dimensions, previewing a possibile line-up expansion: the NC-Y adds a practical, intellectual image and the NC-Z adds a dynamic, cool look.
