The courses are part of CGMA’s current line of online Master Classes, mainly targeted to the entertainment design field. The two specific classes presented here are more industrial-design oriented and can be very interesting for product and transportation designers.
Principles of Design Process (Oct. 22nd – Dec. 18th, 2013 + 1 week for content review) focuses on the development of scenes and props, and will teach how to create “dynamic pieces while breathing life to inanimate objects.”
The instructor is Derek Kosol, a concept artist who has worked in studios such as Disney, Carbine Studios, and Supervillain Studios LLC.
Vehicle and Mech Design (Oct. 19th – Dec. 15th, 2013 + 1 week for content review) – which we already presented some months ago – covers topics such as ideation sketching, perspective, visual language, and design intent.
The class is taught by Paul Christopher, a freelance illustrator whose film and video game clients have included Warner Brothers Studios, Sony Studios, Fox Studios, Universal Studios, NCsoft, and Infinity Ward.
Below we report two 30+ minutes video demos from the classes.
