Suzuki V-Strom 1000: interview with the designer

For the new V-Strom 1000 adventure bike Suzuki has released a micro site featuring three video interviews with Styling Designer Tomoya Murakami.

As the main designer for the new V-Strom 1000, Tomoya Murakami created all of the concept model’s sketches after surveys and research trips to Europe, and also helped create the clay model.

The videos – reported below – discusses the new bike’s design, from concept and inspiration, the fit and finish of the final model, and how the final product was pieced together.

Tomoya Murakami, who has worked in the Motorcycle Styling Department with Suzuki since 2003, has previously worked on the ATV side of the business, designed a number of Suzuki’s off-road motorcycles, and more recently has worked on the GSX-R and GSR series.
