The exterior design of the new MINI Paceman is essentially the same of the homonymous concept car introduced at the 2011 Detroit Motor Show.

The main differences are in the front grille – which lacks the horizontal chromed bars and has a more complex shape due to the additional center air intake – and the more conventional tailgate design.

While maintaining the trademark MINI stance, the Paceman introduces a new design element: the silhouette features a rising waistline contrasted by a downward-sloping roofline, which results in the side windows tapering towards the rear – a styling elements recently seen on several concepts: from the by many carmakers: from the Land Rover Evoque to the recent Lamborghini Urus and Suzuki XA Alpha.
In the Paceman, this cue is combined with the traditional MINI surfacing made of clean, rounded shapes.
The dynamic character is underlined by subtle details such as the muscular flared wheel arches and the hood dome.
The distinctive helmet roof integrates a rear spoiler and can be ordered in a contrasting color.
At the rear, the tail lights have a horizontal arrangement – a first for a MINI model – which helps in underlining the car’s stance and gives the Paceman a distinctive appearance.
The interior includes the main MINI elements, such as the large circular Centre Speedo and the circular air vents – featuring newly designed surrounds, and the center rail storage system.
The luggage compartment has a load capacity of 330 – 1,080 liters.
