The Infiniti LE Concept features an advanced electric vehicle drivetrain equipped with a wireless charging system, and previews a production model expected to be launched within the next two years.
Previewed with design sketches released in 2010 and 2011, the LE Concept features a design strongly influenced by the language and themes first introduced with the Essence Concept in 2009.
The silhouette is defined by flowing, accelerating curves which add dynamism and a sense of speed and aerodynamic.
The surface treatment is very sculptural: the most distinctive elements are the strong character line that runs from the headlights to the tail lights, defining the entire flanks, and the window graphics with the trademark crescent-cut rear-pillar.
At the front, the face is defined by the double-arch grille – featuring a distinctive LED lighting – and by the powerful hood, while the illuminated Infiniti emblem integrates a hidden charge port.
Following some current trends for electric vehicles, the interior is characterized by a hi-tech look underlined by the combination of the white/light grey surfaces and blue LED lighting, contrasted by the polished aluminum trims and the dark grey of the upper part of the dashboard and door panels.
The interior space is maximized through the positioning of the batteries under the passenger compartment floor, which also helps to achieve a low vehicle center of gravity for enhanced handling and to maximizes trunk room
The center console integrates a connected twin display, powered by an Intel Atom™ processor.
Additional highlights include the bolstered seat and door trim design, inspired by the “Eriashi” (collar) of a Japanese kimono.
The seats are covered in a suede-and-mesh fabric with violet accents, and semi-aniline leather sides.

The electric powertrain delivers a torque of 240 lb-ft and is equipped with a laminated 24 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be charged through the integrated charging port, a DC Fast Charge option and an advanced Wireless Charging System, which uses inductive energy flow, with a coil safely encased on the garage floor.
Among the on-board technologies is the Intelligent Park Assist with Around View™ Monitor which allows to easily align the vehicle in the proper position over the wireless charging coil.
The system uses e-steering, with full forward and backward capability, along with a 360-degree view of the surrounding area.
It also bookmarks the parking place in GPS so that once the vehicle enters the garage, for example, the navigation system will automatically switch to Around View™ Monitor and the system is ready to park the car.
