Based on the dimensions of the 2007 Yamaha R6, the MTH 500 is a hi-tech naked motorbike focused on technology and riding sensations.
Among the main features are the anti-dive hub-center steering system that replaces the conventional hydraulic forks and the adoption of Formula 1-inspired Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS).
The design is characterized by a tight integration between the almost organic body surfaces of the upper section and the mechanical components in the lower area.
The drivetrain – a hybrid system with a 500cc engine – aims at optimizing energy efficiency and using it for pure performance and active safety.
The bike is mainly targeted to the so-called Technopodes: a French term that indicates wealthy customers under 40 years, usually male, who have an active lifestyle and lovers and early adopters of technology.
