Politecnico di Milano: Master in Transportation Design 2012-2013

Politecnico di Milano University has announced the 4th Edition of its Transportation and Automobile Design Master Course, which will start in March 2012.


Politecnico di Milano Transportation Design MasterPolitecnico di Milano has released the first details on  the Specializing Master in Transportation & Automobile Design, organized by the POLI.design consortium.

The 2012-2013 Full Time Course, which will be held in partnership with Volkswagen Group Italia, will start in March 2012 and will have a length of 15 months, with more than 1,500 hours of lesson. The tuition fee is € 10,500.00.

Politecnico di Milano Transportation Design Master The Master’s Course will train car designers who enhance their creative abilities in a peculiar and innovative way developing technical skills necessary for the design and development of car and transportation component.

Volkswagen Group Italia will support several didactical initiatives for the Specializing Master in Transportation & Automobile Design, directly teaching and supervising students project works, with the collaboration of some car designers led by Walter de Silva, to assure coherence with the car design companies needs.

Politecnico di Milano Transportation Design Master The partnership agreement signed by Volkswagen Group Italia and the Industrial Design, Arts, Communication and Fashion department of the Politecnico di Milano, will be focus on urban mobility, based on Milan context. Students will adapt their project works to the Milan’s reality and its change in view of Expo2015.

During master’s lessons and projects, students will use Model Experimental Workshop and Virtual Prototyping & Reverse Modeling Experimental Workshop of Politecnico of Milano to make project works and practice activities.

In order to make the experience of being immersed in the culture of Italian design all the more complete, the official language of the Master’s course is Italian. However lessons will be held in a bilingual version, Italian-english, in order to help the learning and the involvement of foreign students, whose inscriptions have been, in these years, very relevant.

The Specializing Master in Transportation & Automobile Design, promoted by the School of Design and organized by POLI.design, Politecnico di Milano consortium, will last 15 months, students will be involved in at least 1,500 hours and will have a value of 60 ECTS.
