The design sketches were shown to the Car and Driver magazine at Volvo’s design studio in Camarillo, California.
They reportedly show possible design directions for the new generation XC90 model, that should be the first production vehicle based on the Scalable Platform Architecture and will be equipped only with four-cylinder units.
The first images showcase a modern look with a sleek and dynamic profile underlined by the high waistline and relatively reduced height of the DLO.
The different sketches suggest several direction for the surface treatment of the rear volumes as well as for the graphics of the tail lamps, which are one of the distinctive design elements of the current generation model.
