Mazda has published a set of design sketches and interior renderings as well as a presentation video of the Takeri Concept, the midsize sedan debuting at the upcoming Tokyo Show.

After the first preview, Mazda has released new images of the Takeri Concept, the sedan that expresses the brand’s KODO – Soul of Motion design language.

The underlying SKYACTIV technology includes a new regenerative braking system that converts kinetic energy to electricity during deceleration, stores it in capacitors (Mazda i-eLOOP) and then uses it to power the vehicle’s electric equipment, thereby reducing load on the engine and saving fuel.

Additional technical highlights include a diesel engine, Mazda i-stop, new lightweight, aerodynamic and chassis technologies.

From a design standpoint, the Takeri – whose name is derived from a Japanese word meaning male – is strongly based on the Mazda Shinari Concept, presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
