At the 2011 SEMA Show Hyundai will unveil a range of custom models, including the Genesis Coupe-based Hurricane SC and two Velosters tuned by ARK Performance and PM Lifestyle.

Hyundai Veloster by PM Lifestyle

PM Lifestyle, a company specialized in creative innovation and digital media distribution in the automotive industry, in partnership with the Universal Technical Institute (UTI, have developed a custom Veloster with a 163 hp powertrain, carbon-fiber hood, Konig Deception wheels and custom leather interior.

Jayke Milton, Build Coordination, PM Lifestyle, explained: “It’s fairly simple to bolt equipment on and off the Veloster sub-frame, making it easy for people to make modifications in their own garages. Plus, the three-doors on the Veloster give it a unique look, making it a very exciting, stand-out car.”

After its debut on the SEMA Show floor, the PM Lifestyle Veloster will go on a three-year show tour with UTI, making appearances at over 120 autocross, supercross and school demonstration events.

With an anticipated performance of 163-horsepower, PM Lifestyle’s custom Veloster will showcase many special modifications, making it a guaranteed highlight at this year’s SEMA Show.

Hyundai Veloster by ARK Performance

Hyundai Veloster by Ark Performance ARK Performance has transformed the Veloster into a sleek and sporty rally car powered by a custom twin-scroll turbocharger delivering 210 hp and with an exterior characterized by a bright green and flat gray paint scheme.

The car will showcase mechanical, interior and exterior modifications including an open wheel concept with aggressive fenders and Nitto tires.

Hyundai Veloster by Ark Performance ARK will also develop Veloster specific parts to showcase the tunability of the engine and vehicle exterior.

Ted Lee, owner of ARK Performance Inc., commented “At SEMA, our ARK Performance Veloster will bridge the realm between an affordable sports car and an extreme motor sports vehicle.”

Hyundai Genesis Hurricane SC

The Genesis Hurricane SC is a special edition prototype of the Genesis Coupe, developed by Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) in cooperation with Magnuson Products, Rhys Millen Racing, Harman International and Torvec Inc.

Hyundai Genesis Hurricane SC The car is the result of a two year developmen, with much work spent to enhance all aspects of the vehicle including power, traction, braking, exterior and interior design and audio system.

The Hurricane SC is powered by a 3.8L V-6 engine with a liquid to air intercooler, producing more than 450 hp.

The unit is mated to a specific IsoTorque differential with improved handling and traction capability.

Beyond the engine, Genesis Hurricane SC has a long list of interior and exterior specialty modifications.

Among these are the front bumper, grille, hood, side skirts, all provided by Rhys Millen Racing (RMR).

Additional highlights include 19-inch wheels, a free flowing exhaust system and air intake and upgraded LED headlights and taillights provided by FlyRyde.

Among the interior enhancements are a Harman International high level Lexicon audio system that was and Katzkin custom premium leather and suede seats accented with blue inserts.

Mechanically, the Hurricane SC has Bilstein monotube shock absorbers and springs with adjustable ride height tuned on the Nurburgring in Germany and a Brembo six piston brake kit with cross drilled front and rear rotors.

The engine also received a SPEC lightweight single mass aluminum flywheel and stage two clutch, DeatschWerks high flow fuel pump and 600cc injectors, Perma-Cool oil, differential and steering coolers and a custom CPR Fabrication billet aluminum oil filter adapter.
