At the latest Frankfurt Show Citroën has presented the Tubik Concept, a study of a 9-seater van inspired by the ‘TUB’ and the Type H models.
The gallery of design sketches documents the aesthetic research for the interior and exterior, where the designers reinterpreted the historic models with futuristic, sleek likes rather than using a rétro style.
In particular, a distinctive design element of the concept is the driver’s circular module called “cyclotron”, that contrasts with the open social environment reserved for the passengers.

The original design for the Citroen van was a pure exercise in form following basic function. It was ugly but it worked. This design concept however is a question mark: form follows… what exactly?
