The XIV-1 Concept aims at combining the robustness and practicality of a B-segment SUV with the affordable running costs of a small family car.
The name XIV-1 is derived from the phrase ‘eXciting user Interface Vehicle’, highlighting the show car’s focus on interaction with the driver and passengers.
The exterior features dynamic, strong yet smooth lines, with a continuous glass area inspired by the side view of a sailing yacht.
A wide C-pillar and slim roof appear to float above the body, while the absence of B-pillars allows easy access to the cabin via coach doors and enhances the car’s sleek, uninterrupted profile.
The front end styling adopts the language introduced with the new Korando crossover and is characterized by LED headlamps.
The interior features a versatile seating layout which allow passengers to freely move and rotate all the seats for their specific needs.
Each of the concept’s four seats can rotate through 360 degrees in addition to moving forwards and backwards.
The cabin’s width is visually stretched by the wide, symmetrical instrument panel design accented with aluminum dials.
The eXciting user Interface Vehicle is based on the concept of an extended living space and can be controlled by passengers using Smart mobile devices.
The hi-tech atmosphere is underlined by the mood lighting made of LED strips.
While it’s really nice to see such a concept from such a car maker, and while the car is really load with much invented touches like door hinges (I really mean hinges and not the opening style) and the loading doors in back. But I really think that model need much refine touches before turning to be a commercial model as the design of the front and the rear light style is not compatible with the sharp edges dominating the side profile and the loading door.
Also the blue led lights in the interior need to turn in another color or at least may be not that shinny as it’s a bit odd now.
