Maserati Kubang Concept

At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show Maserati has presented Kubang, a concept that previews a sport luxury SUV expected to be launched in 2013.


Maserati Kubang Concept The Maserati Kubang takes its name from the homonymous concept created by Giugiaro and presented at the 2003 Detroit Show.

The design of the new concept was developed in six months at the Maserati Style Center headed by Lorenzo Ramaciotti.

The SUV will feature new Maserati engines that will be designed in Modena and produced in Maranello by Ferrari.

An AT 8 speed automatic transmission and specific performance settings such as suspensions, brakes, steering will be exclusively developed in Modena for this model.

The project will be possible thanks to the synergies with the sister brands Jeep and Chrysler.

    Another disaster, just like the Porsche SUV… I guess some people just never learn. Unless of course, it’s a purely financial move and it’s aimed at the Asian and Russian markets, of course.

    your comments guys make my smiling, congratulations to carbodydesign success to explore a new society of fresh car design evaluators. But let’s be fair, this model carrying all distinctives of the brand and it’s really belong to Maserati more than anything, and yes may be at the first sight of the rear we may feel Infinity or even Audi jumping to minds but also we should consider it a good step for the first model of kind for Maserati and have to admit that the SUV model is a great strategic and brave decision from the great brand.

    I think this is a good move from Maserati. But the design itself is just above average- for a concept anyway.

    One of the best looking SUVs out there, with styling cues from the Granturismo and the old Italdesign’s Kubang in the right places.
