Unveiled by Ford at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Fiesta ST Concept combines a muscular and sporty exterior with a high-performance powertrain.
The engine is a 180 hp 1.6 liter EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder unit with Twin-independent Variable Camshaft Timing, delivering 180 hp and 240 Nm of torque.
It is coupled with a 6-speed manual trnasmission and allows the Fiesta ST to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds and to reach a top speed of 220 km/h.
The bold exterior is characterized by a number of sporty elements, including the honeycomb mesh design of the large, distinctive trapezoidal grille and the imosing rear diffuser which integrates a twin exit exhaust.
A lowered stance, widened wheel arches filled with 17-inch alloy wheels and full ST body kit mirror the styling of the Ford Fiesta WRC racing car.
The motorsports theme is continued inside the high-contrast interior which features Recaro sports seats for the driver and front passenger.
The Fiesta ST Concept demonstrates the potential of a performance version of the current Fiesta global model, that could debut within this year.
