At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show Mazda will present the all-new CX5 compact crossover, the first of a new generation of models that will adopt the Skyactive Technology and the ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design language.
Among the distinctive elements of the KODO design are the prominent new front view with a bolder family face and a “dynamic styling that conveys a strong sense of vitality and agility.”
The CX-5 will be offered with a choice between the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline engine and SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine, both with a 14:1 compression ratio for optimal efficiency.
Mazda is claiming targeted CO2 emissions of less than 120g/km for the diesel engine model.
The global launch will begin in early 2012.
