The exterior of the Golf Cabriolet matches that of its hardtop, three- door counterpart.
The new design elements are the rear section, the lower roof line and the more swept-back windscreen frame.
The body of the Golf Cabriolet was subjected to several enhancements aimed at compensating the loss of torsional rigidity.
These include a reinforced windscreen frame and numerous other structural modifications (underbody, side panels, sills, back panel, doors).
Among the passive safety features is the fast rollover protection system that is deployed in milliseconds in the event of a crash.
The electro-hydraulic driven soft top automatically opens in just 9 seconds, and can be operated when driving at speeds of up to 30 km/h.
The soft top also provides space for a “true” luggage compartment with a capacity of 250 liters.
The Golf Cabriolet is available with a choice of six turbocharged direct-injection engines – four gasoline and two diesel – ranging from 105 hp to 210 hp.
Prices start from 23K Euros.
