Aston Martin Vantage GT3

Aston Martin Racing has revealed the new Vantage GT3 race car based on the V12 Vantage model. It will replace the replace the DBRS9 and will be ready for the 2012 season.


The new Vantage GT3 joins the Vantage GT2, GT4, DBR9 GT1 and the AMR-One LMP1 race cars line-up, the largest in the brand’s history.

Designed to meet the FIA regulations, the Vantage GT3 will be based on the Vantage aluminium VH architecture and will be powered by a dry-sumped 6.0 litre V12 engine, derived from the one found in the V12 Vantage.

Among the technical highlights are the semi-automatic paddle shift Xtrac gearbox and racetrack-optimized  ABS and traction control systems.

The target specifications for the project are a weight of 1250kg, apower output of more than 600 hp anda maximum torque of 700Nm.

The first car will be completed in July 2011 and will undertake extensive testing and development. The first ten units will be ready for delivery for the start of the 2012 season.
