At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show Infiniti will reveal the Etherea concept car, a design study that evolves the brand’s identity end, extending it to the premium compact class.
Targeted to youger customers, the 4.4 meters long Etherea was created under the direction of Senior Vice President of Design Shiro Nakamura.
The design combines elements of coupé, sedan, hatchback and crossover in one highly sculptural, near-mono volume form.
According to the first information, the Etherea will showcase high-tech new interpretations of traditional Japanese materials and finishes and an innovative interior layout and access arrangement.
The exterior has an original surface treatment, with the hood crease lines that extend to the sides giving form to a distinctively sculpted descending waistline.
Some of the styling cues – such as the distinctive crescent-shaped C-pillar first seen on the Essence concept – will appear on future production models.
