IED Abarth Scorp-Ion: new images

An exclusive set of images that show new views of the exterior and the sporty interior of the Scorp-Ion Concept, the show car that will be unveiled by Turin-based IED at the next Geneva Show.

The virtual interior of the concept is focused on extreme sportiness – a core value of the Abarth brand – and features carbon-fiber trims and racing-derived details such as the four-points seat belts and the fire extinguisher, located under the center tunnel.

The interior design language contrasts with the flowing and essential surfaces of the exterior and makes use of triangular and hexagonal shapes that underline the “hi-tech” character of the car.

The two bucket seats are made from a single element that is also connected with the roof, suggesting an additional structural function.

The user interface adopts a futuristic touch display on the center console and a complex three-dimensional display integrated in the flat-bottomed steering wheel.

The Abarth Scorp-Ion was created by the Turin IED students of the Master of Arts in Transportation Design – work experience 2009-2010.

    Hello,
I design velomobiles in my free time.
I’m really waiting for the moment that the velomobile will found a place here, on this web site. The velomobile design likes really on this Ion concept but with only 3 wheels and pedals… and it don’t need petrol or electric power. A velomobile means freedom.

    Bye
