Ginetta G55 preview

British carmaker Ginetta has released the first images of its G55 sports car, that will compete in the 2011 GT season along with G50. The G55 will feature a new bodywork and a 370 hp Ford-derived engine.

Previewed by a couple official renderings, the new Ginetta G55 will race in the new Michelin-sponsored Ginetta GT Supercup together with its sister model, the G50, which has won multiple GT4 championships worldwide.

The launch of the Ginetta G55 will be made at Autosport International on January 13th 2011.

The car will be powered by a 3.7 liter Ford engine with 370bhp, Hewland gearbox, cool air induction kit, up-rated front and rear brakes, new exhaust system and an all-new bodywork with improved aerodynamics.

Teams running the current Ginetta will be able to upgrade their existing car to the new G55 for £25,000 or take advantage of a new part-exchange system.

Entry fees for the new 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup will be £9,750 + VAT for a G50 and £11,750 + VAT for the G55.
