Opel has released the first official images and information about the new Astra, which will debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring a sleek and sculptural exterior, the 2010 model adopts the design philosophy and a number of technologies introduced with the Insignia.

Presented as a concept at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the Opel Ampera previews a model that will be produced from 2011. The electric Voltec powertrain is combined with a five-door, four-seat sculptural hatchback design inspired by the GTC and Flextreme concept cars.
