Fiat has announced a car design competition open to eight international design schools: the goal is to stimulate new ideas and proposals for the Group's future models.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary Daihatsu has launched a car design competition, open to university students in their final year of study. The theme is "Small Cars for Years 2030 to 2050" and the registration deadline is 30th November.

Interior Motives has announced the winners of its Design Awards 2006 competition. The main winner is Iman Maghsoudi of the Azad University (Tehran, Iran), who has received the Best Overall Automotive Interior, Best Conceptual Interior and Best Conceptual Exterior awards.

SolidWorks Corporation has announced the 2006 edition of its Design Contest, open to SolidWorks users working in the product design sector. Prizes include hardware and software, for a total value of US$150,000.

Peugeot has announced the 4th edition of its Design Competition. The theme of the event is summarized by the words Pleasurable (to drive), Lively, Efficient, Accessible, Simple, Ecological (P.L.E.A.S.E.). Partecipants can submit their entries between 16 October and 4 December 2006.

DesignerTechniques.com has announced the winners of its design competition started back in June. The 1st prize went to Rollo Dixon, graduated in Automotive Design at the Coventry University in 2005, who has presented an original 3-seater whose design was inspired by natural shapes.

Atari has announced the winning designer of the "Do You Want to Be a Car Designer Contest?". David Sichtermann's concept will be featured in the next edition of "Test Drive Unlimited".
