"Shape Mission"
Car Design from Turin and Piemont (Berlin, 9 July - 19 August 2005)
Turin and Regione Piemonte present "Shape Mission", a Design Show dedicated to Car Design from Turin and Piemonte (Italy).
The exibition shows four full-scale models from different manufacturers and designers and will describe the individual phases of the automobile design process from the concept idea to the prototype development and until the series production.
The main themes of this exhibition are the creativity of the human being, the connection between creativity and virtual reality engineering, the virtual testing - from the model to the prototype and from the prototype to the series production.
Apart from the cars on show, visitor can find sketches, original drawings, reproductions, technical data, material examples and tools, and works by Fioravanti, Stola, Carcerano and Coggiola. In addition to this, "Shape Mission" gives insights into the history of a profession, whose incomparable interplay of intuition and creativity, from craft passion and engineering Know-How, made Turin and Piemonte become one of the most important centers of the italian and international automobile industry.
An interesting and fascinating curiosity is represented by The Leonardo da Vinci's car, designed more than 500 years ago.
