Ford Equator Concept SketchThe official hand-made sketch that previews the Equator Concept

At the next Tokyo Motor Show Ford Motor Company will display the Ford Equator, a world premier concept that comes after the homonymous prototype unveiled at the 2000 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Ford Equator is a SUV vehicle powered by a 3.0-liter V6 Duratech engine and equipped with a computer-controlled 4WD system.

It will offer a good balance of comfort, performances, off-road capabilities and maneuverability for in-city driving.

Its predecessor, the 2000 Equator concept, will be auctioned on next 19 November at the Kruse-Leake 33rd Anniversary Collector Car Auction in Dallas, Texas. All proceeds will go to support American Red Cross chapters in San Antonio, Dallas and Houston for hurrican disaster relief.
