The Porsche Sebring Spyder is a design study of a 2-seater, full-eletric sportscar with an essential design focused on visual lightness and inspired by the brand’s past. It was designed by Northumbria Universty graduate Marcus Classen.

The body is designed around an electric package which leaves a lot of freedom to the overall design of the vehicle.

The formal language of the concept is very light, as it expresses the lightweight construction. The resulting design is raw and essential – yet it maintains the Porsche’s design DNA.

The bodywork is mounted on a frame structure that represents the essential shape of the Porsche 911. The bodywork are kept to a minimum, especially in the lower sections where the body does not cover the platform.

As Marcus Classen explains: "The central question was: How much visual weight can be removed until the design stops being distinctively Porsche?

"To make sure that the design is undoubtedly Porsche it was vital to drew inspiration from Porsche design cues and interpret them in a different way.

"The electric setup of the concept allows the main platform to be very narrow, as it needs to accommodate far less components in comparison with a traditional combustion-engine layout. "
