Wally Concept Car
Coventry graduate Matthew Hockham has designed a sportscar for the Wally luxury yacht brand, taking the company’s distinctive design language and applying it to an automotive concept.
This project, created by automotive design graduate Matthew Hockham from Coventry University, is based on the Wally luxury yacht brand, and explores the possibilities offered by the application of company’s distinctive styling and philosophy to the automotive world.
As Matthew explains "The concept is designed to fit into the company’s image and appeal. The aim is to bring the essence of Wally onto the land and offer an exclusive user experience."
The design uses the Wally’s trademark futuristic form language with sharp edges, black glass surfaces and hi-tech grey tones. The side profile was developed taking inspiration from the character lines of the Wally Power 118.
The interior makes extensive use of carbon fiber and teak, two materials widely adopted on the Wally’s yachts.
The car has been designed taking into consideration the brand’s other products – such as skis – so that it fits into Wally’s existing range and customer profile.
