Designer Camilo Pardo is leaving Ford after 24 years of relationship. Among his works is the design of the Ford GT40 Concept that led to the production Ford GT model, as well as a collection of impressive automotive-related artworks.

Painting By Camilo PardoEmployed at Ford's Advance Design Studio, Camilo Pardo has worked on the Thunderbird and the Lincoln LS, while it's rumored that recently he had smaller tasks.

His name is best known fot the creation of the Ford GT40 Concept which provided the basis for the production Ford GT and started a trend of reinterpreting American classic sportscars from the past.

The end of his relationship with Ford was confirmed - among the others - by AutoWeek, Automotive News and Car Design News.

Born in New York, Camilo Pardo graduated from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit and received the Industrial Design Society of America Merit Award in 1985.

During his 24-year period at Ford, he worked at the Advance Design studio, and spent some time at the other design centers in Cologne, Germany, and Turin.
