My Lounge is a design study for a 3-seater vehicle inspired by the fashion and furniture worlds with a basic structure that can be completed by choosing components produced by different brands to create a unique result. The author is Ilaria Sacco from the Royal College of Art.

The My Longe Concept was the winner in the Best Production Interior category at the Interior Motives Design Awards 2008. It was designed by Ilaria Sacco from the Royal College of Arts.

My Lounge Concept Design Panel 1The project is based on a new idea about the way of consuming cars.

Inspired by the way people buy products such as clothes and furniture, Ilaria Sacco designed a basic 3-seat frame structure which can be "dressed up" with components produced by different brands, made with different style and materials to reflect the owners' taste.

As Ilaria explains: "The car should reflect people’s personality but what usually happens is that the car reflects just the car company personality."

"Even if we have our favorite brands we are never dressed up just with that brand, and our houses are usually a funny mix of brands. So I thought why not try to personalize our car as we personalize our house or ourselves?"
