Local Motors is hosting Adventure Motors, a sketch contest challenging designers to create a transporter for a pack of adventure seekers.

This Stage 1 Sketch Competition begins August 8th, and is open to everyone. The winner will earn $1,500. 

Contest Requirements:

• Four to Six wheels, with light off-road capabilities.
• Enhanced visibility driver seating position.  Passengers should have good visibility as well, to enjoy the journey.
• Six to ten occupant capacity.  Position of engine and gear space should reflect this number of occupants.

The LAF Concept, winner of the Air Base Motors competition

Adventure Motors Competition will begin on next 8 August 2008.

It follows the Air Base Motors competition whose results were announced yesterday.

Below we report the official brief:

"Mountain climbers, white water rafters and all terrain bikers have many things in common.  They are adrenaline junkies, adventure lovers and majority have a profound respect for the world we live in. 

"These thrill seeking nature lovers often travel in groups.  They need a unique vehicle to accommodate their leisure pursuits, fulfill their moral obligation to the environment and reflect their passionate love for life."
