The Volkswagen Room Concept is a vehicle based on the concept of living space and designed as a living room for families and modern nomads.

The interior of the VW Room has no dashboard. The seats have a very light design and the front row can rotate 180 degrees to achieve a face-to-face seat configuration when the car stops.

Wolfgang Müller-Pietralla, Head of Future Research and Trend transfer, VW Group Research, explains: "The car of the future will evolve, steadily changing from purely a vehicle to living space.

"With people spending more time in cars, they'll want to get things done in the car they would normally do at the office or at home: use the phone, share an appointment, shop, use the internet and so on."
