The 308 RC Z shows some design influences from the Audi TT models, especially in the side view center section, with the single arc roofline and the side windows lower edge that reminds of the side door lower profile of the original TT.

Among the peculiar design elements is the "double bubble" roof, a styling cued first introduced back in the 1960s by Zagato on its racing cars and still used on some of its recent creations like the Aston Martin DB7 but also featured on popular sportcars like the 2006 Dodge Viper.

Originally intended to leave enough space for passengers' heads, on the 308 RC Z the double bubble roof becomes a styling feature that mimics the two domes spotted on the 908 Le Mans racing car's roof.
