To celebrate the 40th anniversary of AMG, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a special edition of the CL 65 AMG, powered by a V12 biturbo with 612 hp. It will be produced in 40 units and will go on sale in June 2007.

Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG 40th AnniversaryThe 40th Anniversary edition model is painted in an exclusive Alubeam finish. The production volume will be limited to just 40 vehicles.

Following on from the S 65 AMG and the SL 65 AMG, the new CL 65 AMG is the third AMG model to by powered by the 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine, which delivers an output of 450 kW/612 hp and 1000 Nm of torque.

This performance figures are a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.4 seconds and a 0-200 km/h sprint in just 13.3 seconds.

The standard specification for the new CL 65 AMG includes AMG bodystyling, an exclusive AMG interior, the PRE SAFE® anticipatory occupant protection system and 20-inch AMG forged wheels.

Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG 40th AnniversaryTechnical features include AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control (ABC), and a high-performance brake system featuring twin sliding callipers.

The "40th Anniversary" limited-edition model is finished in Alubeam, a unique paint finish which gives the colour the appearance of liquid metal and appears even more vibrant by reflecting the light in a particular way.

The interior of the CL 65 AMG "40th Anniversary" is characterized by two-tone all-nappa-leather appointments in the new AMG V12 diamond pattern, plus carbon-fibre trim.
